1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TextBolt’s email-to-SMS gateway service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our service.

2. Service Description

TextBolt provides an email-to-SMS gateway service that allows businesses and organizations to send text messages through email interfaces. Our service is designed for legitimate business communications only.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Obtaining proper consent before sending messages
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintaining the security of your account
  • Using the service only for legitimate business purposes
  • Honoring opt-out requests promptly

4. Prohibited Uses

You may not use our service for:

  • Sending spam or unsolicited messages
  • Illegal activities or content
  • Harassment or threatening communications
  • Distributing malware or harmful content
  • Violating any third party’s rights

5. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high service availability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend or terminate service for maintenance, security, or policy violations.

6. Limitation of Liability

TextBolt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our service.

7. Third-Party Integrations

TextBolt integrates with third-party services to provide its functionality, including but not limited to:

  • Google Calendar — for reading calendar events and scheduling automated SMS reminders
  • Google Contacts — for importing contact information
  • Twilio — for SMS message delivery and receipt
  • Stripe — for payment processing

By connecting a third-party service to your TextBolt account, you authorize TextBolt to access your data from that service as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for:


  • Ensuring you have the right to share data from connected services with TextBolt
  • Complying with the terms of service of each connected third-party service
  • Maintaining the security of your connected account credentials

TextBolt is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of third-party services.

8. Automated SMS Reminders

TextBolt offers automated SMS appointment reminders based on your Google Calendar events. By enabling this feature, you understand and agree that:

  • SMS reminders are sent automatically based on your configured schedule and settings
  • Each SMS reminder, auto-reply, and follow-up message deducts credits from your plan
  • You are solely responsible for obtaining proper consent from recipients before enabling automated reminders
  • You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding automated messaging, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CAN-SPAM Act, and carrier-specific A2P 10DLC requirements
  • TextBolt is not responsible for incorrect phone numbers extracted from calendar events, resulting in messages sent to unintended recipients
  • You should verify phone number accuracy in the Reminders Dashboard before enabling auto-send

9. AI-Assisted Features

TextBolt uses artificial intelligence to extract client contact information (names, phone numbers, email addresses) from your Google Calendar event descriptions. By using this feature:

  • You acknowledge that AI extraction may occasionally produce incorrect results
  • You are responsible for reviewing and correcting extracted information before reminders are sent
  • Calendar event text is processed by third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) for extraction purposes only
  • Event text is not stored or used for model training by these AI providers

10. HIPAA Disclaimer

TextBolt offers a HIPAA-safe messaging mode that excludes appointment details from SMS messages. However, TextBolt is not a HIPAA-covered entity and does not independently guarantee HIPAA compliance. Organizations subject to HIPAA should:

  • Enable HIPAA-safe mode in Calendar Settings
  • Consult their compliance officers before using TextBolt for patient communications
  • Enter into a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with TextBolt if required (contact legal@textbolt.com)

11. Credits and Billing for Calendar Reminders

Calendar SMS reminders consume credits from your TextBolt subscription plan:

  • Each outgoing SMS segment (up to 155 characters) costs 1 credit
  • Auto-reply messages (confirmation, cancellation, reschedule responses) also cost credits
  • Follow-up and no-show messages cost credits
  • If your credits are exhausted, pending reminders are automatically paused until credits are replenished
  • TextBolt will notify you when your credit balance is low
